Introducing Dr. Meredith Calvert

ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Meredith, a Ph.D biologist, yoga and breathwork instructor, and founder of MeriYoga and WildCalm Retreats. With over 1,000 hours of teaching experience in studios, virtually, and one-on-one with private clients, I offer an accessible, energizing approach to yoga that meets every body where it is, while still inviting experienced students to explore their edges safely and mindfully.

My teaching draws from Hatha, Vinyasa, and Restorative Yoga, incorporating the science and art of movement and pranayama (breathwork). Each practice is designed to cultivate alignment, awareness, and presence, blending neuroscience with ancient wisdom to help students rewire stress and rediscover calm.

Yoga for me is both powerful and playful and a discipline that invites us to balance effort with ease, structure with surrender. My intention is to help you find that joyful flow, both on and off the mat.

Through my WildCalm Retreats, I extend this work into nature leading yoga, breathwork, and mindful adventure experiences around the world. Whether we’re diving beneath turquoise seas or hiking through wild landscapes, these retreats offer a chance to reconnect deeply with yourself and the natural world.

Let’s dive deeper into wellness together.

The journey to now & here

My yoga journey began nearly twenty years ago, in the thick of my Ph.D. in cell and molecular biology, when stress and overwhelm had taken over. I was battling insomnia, constant headaches, and anxiety that felt impossible to escape. A friend invited me to her newly opened Bikram studio, and though I had no idea what to expect, I showed up. Ninety minutes later, I emerged drenched, exhausted, and transformed; something profound had shifted. It was as if I’d sweat out months of tension and found, for the first time in years, a deep and quiet calm.

That first class changed everything. Since then, I’ve studied with extraordinary teachers across many traditions and evolved my own practice, one that bridges yoga and neuroscience, movement and mindfulness, science and spirit.

Yoga has carried me through two pregnancies, an international move, and a major career shift, offering not just balance but deep transformation. Today, it’s my joy to share this practice - a lifelong source of grounding, resilience, and awe - with others through my teaching and WildCalm retreats.

Hi, I'm Jody Domerstad

ABOUT ME

From a young age I was faced with traumatic injuries that started my journey towards healing. Imagine being hit in the head with a softball traveling at 60mph to wake up in a hospital bed with my jaw wired shut and my hands locked so I wouldn’t injure myself further.

This is a small glimpse of the physical and mental traumas that created the person I am today.

I’ve had to learn how to read, write and speak again.

I’ve had to over come eating disorders, addictions to exercise, to overworking because of the need to soothe and cope.

There were times I sincerely wanted to give up. In fact, I did. I tried giving up. Today I’m happy to say it didn’t work.

Looking back, I believe my pursuit of yoga, mindfulness, meditation, and all the other tools the world of yoga offers

is the very thing that has kept me alive, andhas in fact helped my thrive!

Along the way, I’ve learned great things about our incredible brain & how it is best supported, the body & what it

needs, healthy eating, human behavior, and so much more.

If you are on a search to find your truest & healthiest self or if you’re in a situation that feels too challenging to figure

out on your own I’ve got some tools and guidance to offer you.

I have come to believe that moving the body is an excellent way to unearth the challenges that we need to confront,

and so Yoga Therapy (breath and movement) is our doorway in. I also use Internal Family Systems and Parts Work

where you get to meet the parts of you that are out of alignment, to discover how we

unknowingly keep ourselves in a SAFE mode.

I’m here to help you connect to your highest aspect of yourself, transform trauma and be a guide in the process.

How We'll Work Together

Whether you’re looking to deepen your personal practice or bring a sense of calm and focus to your team, our work together begins with connection. In private sessions offered both in person and online, I’ll design practices tailored to your body, goals, and lifestyle. Each session integrates yoga, breathwork, and mindfulness, grounded in neuroscience to help you regulate stress, build strength and mobility, and cultivate a steady, peaceful mind. You’ll leave with practical tools you can use anytime, anywhere, both on and off the mat.

For groups and organizations, I offer custom wellness experiences ranging from one-time workshops to ongoing corporate yoga programs and immersive retreats. Together, we’ll create an environment that fosters creativity, resilience, and genuine well-being, whether that’s a rejuvenating midday movement session for your team, a restorative retreat in nature, or a science-informed workshop on stress and performance.

Every offering is designed to help individuals and groups reconnect, recharge, and return to their lives with greater joy, clarity, and calm.

How We'll Work Together

As a body-centered therapist and coach, I work holistically, intuitively, and relationally to help you access your own innate ability to heal. My therapeutic approach is person-centered and trauma-informed, fluidly weaving together my broad set of modalities, highlighting mindfulness and body-felt sense awareness.

I am committed to offering a safe and supportive space for my clients to become curious about themselves, their choices, and their behaviors. I care deeply about the work that I do and strongly believe in the healing potential of the therapeutic relationship.
